This picture is entitled "The Graham Children"
and was painted by William Hogarth (1697-1764). Yes, the children are having
fun and laughing and smiling, etc. But the main feature of the picture
is hidden cunningly in a corner. Just look at that cat! One glance is enough
to confirm that he (we cats can tell if a cat is a she or a he) is a true
hunter. And the placement of the cat is very good, the author puts it in
the background as if it didn't matter at all but yet it springs right into
your attention. A truly great painting.
