The blue-eyed Siamese has a highly characteristic shape, being
slim, elongated and angular.
For the stay-at-home this is the best cat. It follows its servant everywhere,
loudly commenting on everything and attempting to explore whatever gets
in the way. A real tragedy for this cat is to be left alone, so it's best
for big families.
The Siamese has been used as the ancestral cat for a number of recent
breeds, each modifying the original form in one way or another. These modern
descendants of the Siamese include the following:
1. Balinese (Longhair Siamese with points)
2. Javanese (Longhair Siamese with new-color
points)
3. Oriental Longhair (Longhair Siamese without points)
4. Oriental Shorthair (Shorthair Siamese without points)
5. Coporpoint Shorthair (Shorthair Siamese with new-color points)
6. Havana (Shorthair Siamese with solid
brown coat)
7. Foreign White (Shorthair Siamese with all-white coat)
8. Seychellois (Shorthair Siamese
with splashed white coat)
9. Ocicat (Shorthair Siamese/Abyssinian)
10. Snowshoe (Shorthair Siamese/American
Shorthair Bi-color)
11. Tonkinese (Shorthair Siamese/Burmese)
